However, there is a treatment for hydrocephalus that consists of placing a shunt system. In the case of Shakira’s father, the Hakim valve was introduced, an element that was developed by the Colombian neurosurgeon Salomón Hakim Dow.
It should be clarified that, if hydrocephalus is not treated in time, it can seriously affect a person’s brain, causing damage that can be irreversible.
