More than 5,500 Quebec homes were still plunged into darkness overnight from Sunday to Monday, due to several electrical outages which affected the Hydro-Québec network.
Shortly before 3 a.m., some 5,537 households were still without electricity, the majority of which in the Laurentides and Chaudière-Appalaches regions, according to a report from the state company.
Thus, approximately 3,329 Hydro-Québec customers were waiting to be reconnected in the Laurentians, while the outages recorded in Laval and Lanaudière were resolved.
In addition to the 1,139 customers without electricity in Beauce, more than 635 households continued to be depressed in Montérégie, while in Outaouais 303 households were in the same situation.
In addition to the Laurentians, dozens of families in Montreal, Estrie and Gaspésie – Îles-de-la-Madeleine were also waiting for the restoration of electric power, it was specified.
Furthermore, Hydro-Québec agents were still working Monday morning to resolve the problems inherent to the interruptions which have still not been restored in the province.
