It became known belatedly that our national team member Hwang Dae-heon was threatened by Chinese fans at the Short Track World Cup held in Beijing last weekend.
Dae-heon Hwang felt very anxious, and was worried that it would affect his performance.

In 2019, Hwang Dae-heon sued teammate Lim Hyo-jun on charges of forcible harassment, and Lim Hyo-jun claimed innocence and chose to naturalize in China.
Then, last October, Hwang Dae-heon met Lim Hyo-jun and China’s Lin Xiaojun, with whom he had a bad relationship, for the first time on the stage of the Montreal World Cup.
The match between the two players unfolded in a strange atmosphere and ended with Hwang Dae-heon’s victory, which spread to the distorted sentiment of Chinese fans.
On the first day of the third World Cup held in Beijing last weekend, Chinese fans waited for Hwang Dae-heon at the national team hotel.
As Hwang Dae-heon boarded the elevator, the Chinese fans who followed him filmed Hwang Dae-heon and mocked him by calling Lin Xiaojun’s name.
The Korea Skating Federation sent a protest letter to the Chinese Federation and the International Skating Federation, calling it “an act that degrades the athlete’s performance” and requesting that “it be prevented from happening once more.”
Even security guards were deployed to the hotel, and Hwang Dae-heon was in great shock.

Lin Xiaojun will not participate in the 4th World Cup held in Korea this weekend due to injury, but the ice skating federation plans to make full preparations to address the safety of our athletes, including Daeheon Hwang.
