Hussein Fahmy receives “Achievement of Life” from the Malmö Festival

The Malmö Arab Film Festival in Sweden honored Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmy with the “Achievement of Life” award at the opening of its 13th session, the day before yesterday, in the presence of a number of Arab filmmakers, stars and critics.

The festival, which was established in 2011, is the largest window for Arab cinema in the Scandinavian countries, and this year it will show 45 films from 12 countries.

And the festival’s president, Muhammad Qiblawi, said in the opening speech: “We are pleased and pleased in this session to honor a great cinematic figure, and as I said previously, he is the one who honors us with his presence in Malmö, and he is the one who honors the Malmö Arab Film Festival with his presence.” Hussein Fahmy (83 years old), who is currently president of the Cairo International Film Festival, will deliver a “Master Class” cinema lesson at the Malmö City Library today. In addition to film screenings, the Malmö Arab Film Festival organizes “Malmö Film Industry Days” with the participation of producers, distributors and film experts, with the aim of stimulating cooperation and co-production and increasing opportunities for film distribution. After the opening ceremony, the festival screened the film “Mediterranean Fever” by Palestinian director Maha Al-Hajj, following winning many awards in Arab and international festivals during the past few months.
