He entry step from many high-end bicycle manufacturers may be the most appropriate for those users amateur who seek, above all, quality and minimum guarantees when facing off-road routes. And it is that, no matter how attractive the most cutting-edge models may be, the truth is that only a few users will be able to squeeze the benefits of the most radical e-mtbs.
This promises to be the case for the Husqvarna LC-1, an electric mountain bike located within Husqvarna’s Light Cross range, which, as its name suggests, is a series of models designed for light off-road use. However, in the case of a e-MTB Austrian brand, performance is guaranteed.
As soon as we look at the design and technical specifications of the LC-1, it is clear that we are dealing with a bicycle that does not intend to make great performance boasts, but whose components promise good behavior and reliability. It must be clear, however, that this is not a radical model.
The LC-6 is designed around the philosophy of a full-suspension aluminum and mid-engine that relies on Shimano and Suntour for the most important components of its chassis and electrical system. It has a type wheel configuration mulletsince the rear tire enjoys a smaller diameter than the front (27.5 inches by 29 from the front) in order to improve traction.
Assisting in pedaling we find an EP8 motor from the Japanese Shimano that provides the cyclist with up to 250 W of nominal power and 85 Nm of torque. It is supported by a battery of 504 Wh capacity that is integrated into the structure of the bicycle so as not to break its design. It is not a very striking capacity, especially at this price level, but it should be enough to complete days of not too intense use aboard the LC-1.
The suspension scheme is made up of an SR Suntour XCR34 Boost LOR front fork that offers 120 millimeters of travel, while the spring incorporated into the frame is a Raidon R air spring.
At the head of the braking system is the specialist Tektro, who makes available to the LC-6 some two piston calipers both on the front and rear axles that bite into 203 and 180-millimeter discs, respectively.
All of the above leads the Husqvarna LC-6 to have a recommended price in Spain of 4,499 euros. A high cost for an entry-level model, but when faced with one of the most reputable brands in the sector and with a higher manufacturing and construction quality, it is partly justified. It is not, therefore, an affordable electric bicycle such as the MOMA e-MTB Full Suspension, which is one of the best-selling models on Amazon. You can check its price at this link.
