The discovery of a young woman’s body shocked residents of Setiamanah Subdistrict,
Cimahi Tengah District, Cimahi City. It is suspected that the body had died about 7 days ago because it gave off a pungent stench.

The victim named Zakilah Indri Winata, 21, was found lying stiff on a mattress covered with a blanket at her house on Jalan Gang Karya Muda, Kampung Pojong Utara, RT 02 RW 04, Setiamanah Subdistrict on Tuesday (13/7) evening.

The results of the police investigation, Zakilah was a murder victim
committed by her own husband. The temporary motive of the perpetrator to kill the victim was triggered by jealousy because the victim was suspected of having another boyfriend.

“From the results of the investigation, the perpetrator was the victim’s husband, Sahir,” said Cimahi Police Chief, Assistant Grand Commissioner Tri Suhartanto, Wednesday (14/8).

He revealed that Zakilah was killed by her husband on Tuesday (6/8). For a week, Zakilah’s body was kept in the room wrapped in 6 layers of parts starting from sarong, sheets, blankets, mukena, plastic, and trash bags.

“The perpetrator did this to eliminate the unpleasant odor. Even on each layer of the corpse’s covering, the perpetrator sprinkled coffee powder and clothes freshener,” he said.

Apart from covering up the smell, Tri continued, the perpetrator’s actions
This was done deliberately to find a gap so that it could be brought out
from the mess and threw his wife’s body somewhere.

“If we look at it, maybe the perpetrator is looking for a loophole so he can…
there is a right time to be able to take this body that has been
wrapped it out and thrown somewhere,” he added.

Furthermore, the perpetrator killed his wife because of heartache and jealousy. He found his wife exchanging intimate messages with another man. This triggered a verbal argument and a fight that led to the victim being killed.

“The perpetrator admitted to committing this heinous act because he was offended and felt jealous,” said the police chief.
