The bones of Fridayia, a 35 year old woman, victim of murder by her husband in Makassar City, were finally found and buried by her family. Meanwhile, the perpetrator, Henky Talik, 43, underwent a psychiatric examination following the secret of his crime was revealed 7 years later. Henky is known to have buried his wife’s body in the house to hide his actions, and is now facing the threat of the death penalty or life imprisonment.
Fridayia, the victim of her husband’s murder, was given a proper burial by her family at the public cemetery on Jalan Rappocini Raya, Lorong II, Makassar City, South Sulawesi. This case emerged on Sunday (14/4). This case was revealed following the perpetrator’s first child, Vivi, who was 17 years old at the time, reported the violence she experienced at the hands of her father to the Makassar City Police.
Vivi revealed that her mother did not run away with another man, but was killed by her father and her body was buried in the house. The perpetrator, Henky Talik, vacated his house for 5 months following the murder, then rented it out for more than 5 years before vacating it once more.
The Makassar City Police involved the Inafis, Forensic and Biddokes Teams of the South Sulawesi Regional Police in excavating Henky Talik’s house at number 6B. Finally, a human skeleton was confirmed as belonging to Jumuia.
The police have examined at least 10 witnesses, including the perpetrator, and confirmed that there is no involvement of other parties in this case.
Makassar Police Chief Commissioner Mokhamad Ngajib stated that the follow-up to this case would involve DNA testing to verify the relationship between the victim and the perpetrator, a psychological examination of the perpetrator, as well as counseling assistance for the victim’s two daughters. The police will also investigate claims that the perpetrator used drugs, and continue to collect information from relevant witnesses. Until now, there has been no indication of involvement of other parties in this case. (Z-10)
