Huobi launches a new crypto card in Europe

Crypto exchange Huobi has announced a partnership with financial service provider Solaris, which will see them introduce a new crypto card for their European customers.

The bank card supported by Visa allows users living in the European Economic Area (EEA) to pay from their crypto account at Visa acceptance points anywhere in the world. The institution includes all 27 member states of the European Union, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. According to the news, the card is expected to be available for residents of EEA member states from the second quarter of 2023 will become available.

Commenting on the partnership with Huobi, Andrea Ramoino, Strategy Director of Solaris, said that further developments can be expected in the future.

“This is only the first step in our cooperation. In the future, we will also strive to provide additional payment options for countries in the EEA and beyond.” – said Ramoino.

It is important to mention that this is not the first such card that can be used by European residents. Back in 2020, Binance launched its own crypto card, with which users can pay at all Visa acceptance points and online platforms.

Looking outside the EU, we can find similar opportunities. Visa, for example, has been influential in promoting cryptocurrency payments. In October last year, the company partnered with Blockchain.com. As a result, they launched a crypto card that allows you to pay with crypto or fiat currency at the acceptance points. However, its use is currently only available to residents of the United States.

Recently, as a result of the financial service provider’s partnership with the fintech company ZELF, an anonymous debit card with cryptocurrency top-up became available.
