According to the police, the 55-year-old, accompanied by a hunting guest, wanted to cross to a high stand in the approximately 45-degree steep forest area when he slipped on leaves. The man might no longer hold on and fell regarding 80 meters down the rocky slope before he came to rest in a gully filled with old snow.
Because of the steep terrain, neither the hunting guest nor the hunting tenant, who had witnessed the accident from a nearby hill, were able to climb down to the injured man. But they immediately made an emergency call. The accident victim was subsequently reached by the team from the C6 emergency medical helicopter, treated in the gutter, rescued with the rope and flown to the accident hospital in Salzburg. According to initial information, the man suffered severe chest trauma in his crash.
