Hunter Biden goes against Fox

NEW YORK (EFE).— Hunter Biden, the son of U.S. President Joe Biden, filed a lawsuit once morest Fox News in a New York state court for broadcasting a miniseries that simulated one of his trials and disseminated explicit images that caused “irreparable damage” to his reputation.

“The Trial of Hunter Biden,” as the audiovisual piece that was available on Fox’s streaming service until April, fictionalized a trial based on charges of illegal bribery abroad, crimes for which Hunter has not been charged.

The lawsuit once morest Fox News is not for defamation, but for violating the state’s civil rights law, which restricts the non-consensual dissemination of sexually explicit images and videos.

President Biden’s son also alleges that Fox knew the private photos and videos he broadcast were hacked or stolen, but posted them anyway, causing him “severe emotional distress, humiliation and mental anguish.”

“Fox’s unlawful publication and dissemination of the intimate images was not done for a legitimate public purpose, as the miniseries does not accurately report newsworthy facts, but is instead a mock trial of a non-existent case once morest Mr. Biden,” the legal text reads.

Although the miniseries was pulled three months ago following threats from Biden’s legal team, lawyers for the US president’s son claim that it is still available on third-party streaming platforms and that promotional clips have been preserved.

The petition seeks an order to Fox News to “remove, suppress and delete any publication of an intimate image of Mr. Biden” of this nature that is in its “possession, custody or control”; as well as unspecified punitive damages.

The lawsuit stems from a 2022 streaming show that Mr. Biden “did not complain regarding until he sent a letter in late April 2024,” the network says.

A Fox News spokesperson said the lawsuit was “entirely politically motivated.”
