At a meeting with the Belarusian Foreign Minister in Budapest, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto praised Belarus as a reliable transit partner for Russian oil supplies.
Szijjártó said that for Hungary, the country’s energy supply is “an issue of exceptional importance.”
“We must talk regarding the security of Hungary’s energy supply. From this point of view, Belarus is a very important country,” said the Hungarian Foreign Minister.
He recalled that 80% of Russian oil comes to Hungary through the Druzhba pipeline, which passes through the territory of Belarus.
“Belarus has so far been a reliable, correct transit partner of Hungary. Belarus has guaranteed uninterrupted oil supplies through its country to Hungary, and the minister promised me today that we can count on security and uninterrupted supplies in the future. And I expressed my gratitude for this “, Szijjarto said.
