Hundreds of people have gathered in a new protest over the results of the Serbian elections

The main opposition camp had called for protests against the weekend’s election results, which were marred by reports of irregularities.

The protest came a day after thousands gathered outside Serbia’s election commission after President Aleksandar Vucic won a landslide victory in parliamentary and local government elections.

The crowd on Tuesday was smaller than at the previous protest, and demonstrators, many of whom were students, chanted anti-government slogans and held anti-Vucic banners.

“I’m here tonight because I’m very angry about voter fraud not only in Belgrade, but throughout Serbia,” 29-year-old Marko Radičević told AFP.

Opposition leader Marinika Tepič indicated that the protests would continue and said more rallies would be needed to put pressure on the government.

“We caught them falsifying voters’ votes and we cannot accept that,” said M. Tepič.

M. Tepič said that one of the demands of the protesters is to show the opposition leaders on the main channel of the state broadcaster, which did not show reports about rallies and suspected fraud.

Earlier in the day, the country’s main opposition coalition called on people across the political spectrum to join the demonstration.

“We invite all opposition parties and movements, citizens and civil society to join us,” Miroslav Aleksic, leader of the Serbia Against Violence (SPN) movement, told a press conference in Belgrade.
