A GROUP of Jewish anti-Zionist activists gathered in Baltimore, Maryland, United States, to demand an immediate US arms embargo on Israel.
More than a hundred protesters from the local chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace held an event commemorating Children’s Day of Action for Palestine, marking one year since a group of children gave a press conference outside Al-Shifa hospital in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, to appeal for safety.
“Caring for and mourning the dead is a sacred practice in the Jewish religion. It is important for us as Jews to continue to voice our collective sorrow for witnessing genocide, while doing what we can to end more deaths,” said Jo Feldman, one of the protesters at the event. press release and footage shared with TRT World.

**Interview with Sarah Goldstein from Jewish Voice for Peace**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us today, Sarah. I understand that your organization organized a significant event recently. Can you share more about what inspired the demonstration commemorating Children’s Day of Action for Palestine?
**Sarah Goldstein:** Thank you for having me. The demonstration was inspired by our belief that all children deserve to live in peace and security. We wanted to raise awareness about the impact of conflict on children in Palestine, particularly in light of the ongoing violence. It’s critical to make their voices heard and to advocate against the arms sales that contribute to this suffering.
**Editor:** I see. Your event attracted quite a turnout. What was the atmosphere like among the participants?
**Sarah Goldstein:** The atmosphere was one of solidarity and urgency. Participants were passionate and motivated, united by their commitment to justice for Palestinian children. We held speeches, shared stories, and engaged in thoughtful discussions, making it clear that as Jewish activists, we stand in opposition to violence and militarization.
**Editor:** During the protest, there was a strong call for a U.S. arms embargo on Israel. Can you explain why this demand is so important to your group?
**Sarah Goldstein:** Absolutely. We believe that military aid and arms sales to Israel contribute to ongoing human rights violations against Palestinians. By calling for an arms embargo, we aim to stop the flow of weapons that perpetuate violence and to create space for dialogue and peace. We urge the U.S. government to reconsider its policies and prioritize the protection of children’s rights.
**Editor:** How do you feel events like yours impact public perception and policy regarding Palestine and Israel?
**Sarah Goldstein:** Events like ours play a crucial role in shifting the narrative around Palestine. They not only inform the public but also encourage others to question existing policies. When people see activists come together and share their stories, it fosters empathy and understanding. We hope this ultimately leads to a reassessment of U.S. arms involvement and a greater push for justice in the region.
**Editor:** Thank you, Sarah, for your insights and for the important work that Jewish Voice for Peace is doing.
**Sarah Goldstein:** Thank you for highlighting our cause! It’s essential for all voices to be part of this discussion.
