In the midst of the generals’ war in Sudan and its capital, Khartoum, hospitals are only at 70% of their operating state. With the problems of equipment, supplies and electricity, but also of caregivers, Médecins Sans Frontières is stepping up its efforts to treat the wounded. In this tense context, 20 Minutes contacted Claire Nicolet, deputy head of Médecins Sans Frontières in charge of Sudan, to enlighten us on the urgency of the situation.

“Today, we are treating hundreds of gunshot wounds, this requires significant equipment that a hospital does not normally have. The teams on site are extremely tired, they work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in these hospitals, ”explains the manager.
