Hundreds of British combat drones for Ukraine

On the occasion of the visit of the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj to Great Britain, the British government promised further arms deliveries. In addition to anti-aircraft missiles, Ukraine should also get hundreds of drones.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak embraced Zelenskyy at the official country estate of Checkers near London and compared him to the British Prime Minister during World War II, Winston Churchill: “In the same way, today your leadership and the courage and steadfastness of your country are an inspiration for all of us.”

The new combat drones should have a range of up to 200 kilometers. Last week, the British government announced the delivery of “Storm Shadow” cruise missiles, which can fly up to 250 kilometers and thus significantly further than the missiles of previously delivered systems such as “HIMARS”. This would allow Ukraine to target previously unreachable areas, such as occupied Crimea. The internationally recognized territory of Russia will not be attacked, Zelenskyy promised. Deliveries are extremely negative, Moscow warned.

The head of the Wagner mercenary force, Yevgeny Prigozhin, meanwhile, has dismissed reports of a possible betrayal of Russian positions to Ukraine. It’s “nonsense,” he explains. Nor did he meet Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine’s military intelligence service, in Africa. The Washington Post previously reported, citing US intelligence documents, that Prigozhin had offered Ukrainian intelligence to betray Russian positions in return for Ukrainian forces withdrawing from Bakhmut. However, Ukraine has rejected the offer, it said.
