Humberto Zurita returns to La Laguna to present the play Dear Daddy!

He is back in Torreón, his land, because tomorrow, Thursday, March 16, he will perform at the Teatro Isauro Martínez (TIM) to offer two performances of the play ¡Papito Querido! Humberto Zurita is a man of the theater, an actor trained by great lagoon masters such as Rogelio Luévano. Just last October 15, the cast achieved “sold out” at TIM with this same comedy that has reached 50 performances, replicating the success around the country.

“Fortunately, we have done very, very well. We are filling almost all the places, that makes us return to Torreón once more. We were here a little while ago, a few months, and They did us the favor of filling both functions. That is why the decision to return, and here we are once more, trying to amuse and entertain all the people of Torreón”.

Dear Daddy! is a comedy written by Rodolfo Rodríguez and directed, in this case, by Humberto Zurita himself, who also plays “Luis”, a divorced man who pretends to be his wife, because his daughter’s future in-laws demand that she have married parents. It will be Thursday night when the actor from La Laguna takes the stage accompanied by Stephanie Salas, Luis Gatica, Ivonne Zurita and Lambda García. Two functions will be offered at the TIM, at 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Tickets are available on the NewTicket platform.

“I think I’m better directing than acting, because I’m very committed to the story, I know the story very well, I try to find out regarding the career of the author I’m playing and to see what his intention is when he put on a work of this type, of this kind. genre, such as comedy. Then, when I do my table work with the actors, that’s the time when you don’t just build characters, if you don’t build a very good relationship with them. I am of that type. I don’t like to impose anything on the actor, I like to see what the actor proposes”.

Before the genre of comedy, Humberto Zurita is perceived with a certain comfort and joy. Remember that he began his professional career doing El Avaro de Moliere, one of the great authors of comedy, where he participated with the recently deceased leading actor Ignacio López Tarso. In the case of Dear Daddy!, Zurita tried to preserve the spirit that Rodolfo Rodríguez impregnated the charactersfor which he invites the public to enjoy this work and give himself the opportunity to have fun.

“People who have not been to the theater, go. Treat yourself for the first time to going to the theater. It is very hot, we come from a pandemic… come and have fun, come and have a good time, discover in the theater that it is not going to read a book, it is not that type of culture, it is a culture of life”.

With great memories of his beginnings at the Isauro Martínez Theater and an enthusiasm to go on stage, the actor speaks to his land and pays homage through his words.

“I love and love Torreón all my life. I return to Torreón every year. My mother lived here until a few months ago and we were at least two or three times a year here in Torreón. How many people aren’t there from Torreón already in the artistic milieu and in all media? In all the professions in this country, there are very talented people from Torreón”.
