It is also a milestone in robotics. These devices stand out because they physically closely resemble the human body, imitating movements and functions.

That’s why Shaun Azimi, head of NASA’s robotics team, explained that these humanoid robots could take on risky tasks such as cleaning solar panels or inspecting broken equipment outside the spacecraft.
According to page report The Economist, One of the best-known projects is Valkyrie, which measures 188 centimeters and weighs around 136 kilos.
This robot, which refers to Norse mythology, today performs tasks in “environments degraded or damaged by human engineering.”
But, despite his human characteristics, NASA has ruled out that this poses a risk to the astronaut’s work. That is, humanoid robots would be part of space missions.
“We are not aiming to replace human crews, but rather to take away boring, dirty and dangerous work from them so they can focus on higher-level activities,” Azimi said. For now, the work of humanoid robots focuses on terrestrial tasks.
