The health and humanitarian crises in the Gaza Strip are worsening following a week of continuous Israeli bombing, which has led to more than two thousand casualties so far, and a UN warning that health facilities will collapse at any moment inside the Strip.
After Al-Shifa Hospital had previously been forced to dump the bodies of the victims in the hospital courtyard because the refrigerators were full, Shuhada Al-Aqsa Hospital, in the city of Deir al-Balah, was forced to use refrigerators of ice cream and foodstuffs to preserve the bodies of the victims.
According to a member of the hospital’s medical staff, their morgues are “small and narrow, and can no longer accommodate the huge numbers of victims.”
He added: “The situation is very miserable, health services are weak, and the hospital needs support and aid.”
