（ＣＮＮ） A human remains was found inside a wild alligator in Queensland, Australia. Police are investigating the missing 65-year-old man.
Queensland Police said in a statement on Monday that they had called off a search for the missing man, although his body had not yet been formally identified. A CNN affiliate said the man was Kevin Darmody.
Darmody went missing on April 29 following a fishing trip on the Kennedy River in Ligneill (Lakefield) National Park in the northeastern part of the state. State Department of Environment and Science wildlife officers captured two large alligators upstream from where Darmody was last seen.
Police said the captured crocodiles were 4.1 and 2.8 meters long. According to the Ministry of Environment and Science, most of the attacks on people are crocodiles over 2 meters long.
A human body was found inside one of them. But police believe the two horses were involved in Dermody’s disappearance.
Queensland Police and others have been searching for him using helicopters since the 29th, when a missing person’s report was filed with the police.
Investigators said on May 1 that Darmody may have been dragged into the water by a large alligator. He told 9 News, a partner station.
Ligneill National Park is regarding 340km northwest of Cairns in northeast Queensland and is a designated saltwater crocodile sanctuary.
Locals have warned once morest getting too close to the water.
