Al-Marsad newspaper: Turki Humaidan Al-Turki revealed the end of the parole committee session for his father imprisoned in America.
He said in a tweet via his Twitter account: “My father Humaidan Al-Turki’s session ended a while ago, led by the representative of the parole committee, which we were allowed to attend visually, and Professor Amani Al-Ruwais, representing the Kingdom’s embassy in Washington, attended to support the parole request.”
And he continued in another tweet, the course of the session began by giving my father the opportunity to request release and to convince the representative of the parole committee, in which my father spoke regarding his positive impact inside and outside the prison, and referred to the prison administration’s praise of him being an exemplary prisoner.
And he added, this time my father spoke with burning as if he was fighting for his life, he touched in his talk regarding the completion of three times his sentence, and that every year in which he is rejected, his children are deprived of the presence of their father in the most important stages of their lives, and my father cried while he was telling the representative of Paradise the details of his celebration of the marriage of my sister Noura in his cell .
And he continued, at the conclusion of the session, the representative of the committee stated that the regular tools available to him prevented him from accepting the release request, and the intervention of the Kingdom’s embassy and its support for the request for conditional release had a positive effect in postponing the issuance of the decision to study the release request with the rest of the committee members and refer to a decision.
He added, the representative of the parole committee stated that regardless of the committee’s outcome, my father’s moral history during the 16 years he spent in prison, and his positive impact on his fellow prisoners and his children, must be praised, and he was impressed by the exceptional support that my father enjoys from his sons and from The Embassy of the Kingdom and its community.
