The host of the shows “Seul. e contre vous” and “Our songs have a story” is taking on a new, unexpected challenge. From October 12, he will take on the role of Theater teacher for the new Star Academy promotion, broadcast on TF1.
Here he is embarked on this new adventure which surprised the host who nevertheless has been juggling for many years between a media career on La Une and VivaCité and his career as an actor.
His experience within the Improvisation League, his numerous live broadcasts on both radio and television will be important assets to take on this new professional challenge.
With a 17-year radio career, Hugues made his debut on FooRire FM, where he rubbed shoulders with certain voices from VivaCité such as Marc Vernon, Olivier Gillain, Jules-Bernard Leblond and even a certain… Jérôme de Warzée. After 7 years at Nostalgie, he joined RTBF in 2020 as partner of Sara De Paduwa in the 6-8 of La Une and as a columnist in We are not Pigeons to then co-present alongside Livia Dushkoff the new game Alone. e against youbroadcast Monday to Friday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on VivaCité. At the same time, he hosts the daily Our songs have a story and its weekend variation every Saturday morning with Bruno Tummers. The opportunity for him to share his in-depth knowledge of the stories of the songs. A theme that he cherishes since it is at the center of his one-man show “Le mélomane mythomane” where he tells with humor the little anecdotes of the great songs. A show that he has performed many times in the café-theatre “Le Petit Chapeau Rond Rouge” in Etterbeek, which he co-founded 20 years ago. Its café-theatre also participates in the “J’peux pas, j’ai spectacle” initiative, a project of RTBF and the Wallonia Brussels Federation, which offers thousands of seats at €2 from September 27 to 6 october.
Such an experience certainly weighed in the balance of the choice made for him to join the team of teachers of the flagship TF1 show: “This is an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up! The idea of sharing my passion with a wide audience touches me deeply. This adventure is at the crossroads of all my passions: theater, improvisation, song and of course, television. And then, transmission is something that is really close to my heart.”
Hugues is replaced on VivaCité by well-known voices and faces! Adrien Devyver has taken up the torch of Alone. e against youwhile after Stéphane Piedboeuf, it will be Joëlle Scoriels who will take over from October 5 Our songs have a story in daily and weekly version. She will also find her accomplice Bruno Tummers with whom she is used to collaborating on television.
