Huge chain opens newly built hotel in Aalborg

Huge chain opens newly built hotel in Aalborg

They wanted a brand new hotel to be built here.

And now five years later, you are ready for “The Grand Opening”. Thursday is the official opening of the hotel with 101 rooms.

– It is the first time in 10 years that a new hotel has been built in Aalborg. In addition, it is one of Europe’s largest chains that is opening its doors. So I think it’s a big thing, says Steen Royberg, who is a partner in Nordicals based in Aalborg.

Among other things, they have helped to find the land, investors and arranged contracts.

The hotel itself is called B&B Hotel Aalborg, and as the name quite rightly suggests, the first letters stand for “Bed and Breakfast”.

A concept that hotel manager Sven Holnaicher explains in a little more detail:

– In addition to rooms, the hotel will also offer breakfast, a small bar concept and vending machines with snacks and drinks. Our goal is that the guests can sleep in a good room at a good price, says Sven Holnaicher.

He himself is from Germany, while his wife Louise Etzerodt is from Brønderslev. Together they run the country’s two B&B hotels.

The first opened in Vejle in April last year. And now the trip has come to Aalborg.

The new hotel is located on the corner of Jyllandsgade and Dag Hammarskjølds Gade and will therefore be neighbors with Politigården and Rema1000.

– The background for that location is that it is close to infrastructure with the Plus bus, at a reasonable distance to the railway station and close to the city and the Aalborg Congress & Culture Centre, explains Steen Royberg.

Sven Holnaicher is obviously looking forward to the official opening and adds:

– Aalborg is a super cool city, I think. It is modern and with nice people. So it’s great to have been given the opportunity to open a hotel that has been built from scratch.

As mentioned, Thursday 21 November is the official opening. But in fact you have been able to use the hotel since 15 August.

– Yes, that’s true. They opened quietly there. But Thursday is “The Grand Opening” with guests from home and abroad, says Steen Royberg.

The hotel in Aalborg will have a reception open 24 hours a day, but it is also possible to check in at a machine, where you will then be given a unique code for the door to your room.

As mentioned, the hotel has 101 rooms, spanning single, double, triple, family and disabled rooms.

The hotel is also part of B&B Hotel’s larger expansion in Denmark.

– In the long term, we plan to open more hotels in cities such as Odense, Fredericia, Kolding, Horsens and Esbjerg, it says.
