Chinese telecommunication equipment maker Huawei’s flagship smartphone ‘Mate 50’ Pro model will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ first-generation 4G chipset instead of the previously announced Snapdragon 888 chipset.

According to foreign media on the 5th (local time), a ‘Mate 50’ Pro model with the DCO AL00 model number was caught on Geekbench recently.

The octa-core processor installed in the Mate 50 Pro model consists of one 3.19Ghz CPU core, three 2.75GHz CPU cores, and four 2.02Ghz CPU cores. The specifications are the same as the Snapdragon 8+ 1st generation, foreign media reported.

In addition, the Mate 50 Pro model scored 1266 in the single-core test and 3938 in the multi-core test, almost identical to the scores of other Snapdragon 8+ first-generation devices. However, it is unclear whether other models besides the Pro model will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8+ first-generation 4G chipset.

The Mate 50 series will be officially announced at an event on the 6th.
