Huawei may have joined ZTE and BOE in a kind of “consortium” to develop a foldable smartphone with under-display selfie camera. The information began to circulate last weekend on the Weibo social network.
Citing as sources people who work within Huawei, a leaker claims that there is already a prototype folding Huawei with front camera under the display. He is basically what we can expect from the future Huawei Mate X4.
Shortly therefollowing, the Digital Chat Station ended up sharing an image of this foldable device, which uses UDC display technology.
The prototype below already has the latest and most advanced screen from BOE. It will be provided to ZTE and is now also being tested by Huawei.
For now, manufacturers do not comment on the matter. Even so, sources claim that Huawei’s future foldable will have a 2K resolution panel and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz.
In addition, there are chances that this device will be made official with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor or later version, while the rear set of cameras will feature XMAGE technology, in addition to satellite connection.
If the use of BOE’s new panel presents positive results in Huawei’s folding, DCS believes that the manufacturer will be able to receive orders from several manufacturers, including even Apple.
