Huawei unveiled at MWC 2022 a device called MatePad Paper, which combines the capabilities of a tablet computer and an e-reader. The gadget is equipped with a touchscreen 10.3″ E-Ink anti-glare display that supports 256 shades of gray and can display not only text and images, but also video, if such a need arises.
Huawei MatePad Paper boasts very thin bezels around the display – the screen occupies 86.3% of the front panel area. Another important advantage of the device is the display backlight with 32 levels of brightness, thanks to which the gadget can be used in low light conditions. The kit comes with a Huawei M Pencil stylus, with which you can take notes in the margins of e-books and documents – working with the accessory will be quite comfortable, because the manufacturer has reduced the display response time to 26 ms.
The company emphasized that MatePad Paper connects freely with other Huawei devices: laptops, desktops, tablets and phones. When connected, the gadget is defined as a USB drive, so all notes and PDF documents are easily copied, and HarmonyOS acts as a software platform. The manufacturer noted that it continues to build up a proprietary ecosystem, the range of features of which can be expanded by third-party software developers. The cost of Huawei MatePad Paper and the release date of the device will be announced later.
