Huawei Mate X5 debuts as new foldable flagship to compete with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5

Huawei has quietly launched the Mate X5 in China, a new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 competitor of Samsung. To summarize, only a few days have passed since Huawei presented the Mate 60 et Mate 60 Pro in its domestic market. While the Mate 60 series contains various improvements over the Mate 50 models, it’s the opposite for Huawei’s latest foldable device. According to Huawei’s website, the Mate X5 shares the following components with the Mate X3:

The Mate On the other hand, Huawei replaced the processor Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 who equips theMate X3by a Kirin 9000S, the same chipset used in the Mate 60 series. As a reminder, Huawei has not yet communicated all the details regarding the Kirin 9000S, but it seems that it uses 7nm nodes with cores of Cortex-A720 and Cortex-A510 CPUs, as well as a Maleoon 910 GPU.

Additionally, Huawei sells the Mate X5 with optional 16GB of RAM, which is 4GB more than theMate X3. Furthermore, while theMate X3came with a storage capacity of 256GB, Huawei is only offering the Mate , although it has opened pre-orders in China. The company also did not comment on global availability.
