Huawei is launching a new generation of premium mid-range cell phones, and on Monday (25), even before its debut, a leak revealed the possible specifications of the Kirin 9000SL, a platform that supposedly equips the Nova 12 Ultra, a more advanced model. of its new line of smartphones.
Screenshots released by leaker Anvin show the specifications of the Kirin 9000SL. Rumors suggest that this chip is a “skinned” version of the Kirin 9000S which, in turn, debuted with the Huawei Mate 60. What draws attention to this platform is its 9-core CPU, an unusual configuration in the hardware market.
Huawei has not disclosed, anywhere in the technical data sheet of its new cell phones, which platform is used in the Nova 12 Ultra, therefore, all information mentioned by leakers should be treated as rumors until the manufacturer confirms the details.
The Kirin 9000SL appears to have a 2 + 3 + 4 core design, with 2 primary cores clocked at 2.35 GHz — a lower frequency than the main cores of the TaiShan V120 CPU, used in the Kirin 9000S, which operate at 2.62 GHz. There is also a cluster of 4 cores clocked at up to 2.15 GHz and a block of 3 low-power cores clocked at up to 1.53 GHz.
In the graphics department, the Kirin 9000SL sports the same Maleoon 910 GPU as the Kirin 9000S. The unit clocks up to 750 MHz.
For now, these are the only known specifications of the supposed Kirin 9000SL. According to the leak, the processor is used in the Huawei Nova 12 Ultra, which recently appeared on Geekbench 6.2 under the codename “ADA-AL00U” with 12 GB of RAM, reaching 1,122 points in single-core and 3,043 points in multi-core.
For comparison purposes, the Huawei Mate 60 equipped with Kirin 9000S appears on the same version of the benchmark platform with scores in the range of 1,300 in single-core and 4,100 in multi-core, suggesting that the new version is slightly slower than the CPU used in the Chinese brand’s top-of-the-line cell phones.
