Huawei is launching three solutions to leverage F5.5G and make strides towards 10 Gbps Everywhere

BARCELONA, Spain, March 1, 2023 (Archyde.com) /PRNewswire/ During MWC 2023, Huawei presented three solutions – Huawei FTTR OptiXstar F30, the industry’s first commercial 50G PON, and Huawei OptiX Alps-WDM. There are solutions for the areas of all-optical home network, ultra-broadband access and all-optical metro network. These solutions not only help operators build green, all-optical E2E networks to support the development of all services in high quality, but also support the smooth evolution to F5.5G networks and advances for 10Gbps Everywhere.

  • In the field of all-optical home networking, Huawei FTTR OptiXstar F30 is the industry’s first all-optical FTTR network product running on the C-WAN architecture, featuring six key improvements: – Aesthetics: Four colors and three installation modes allow for a perfect match with the Design of a modern house. – Speed: Hardware acceleration and algorithm optimization ensure a 2,000 Mbit/s connection throughout the house. – Coverage: Intelligent multi-beam antennas improve coverage by approximately 30%. – Roaming: Huawei’s innovative SRCN (Seamless Roaming Coordinated Network) algorithm enables imperceptible roaming throughout the home. – Concurrency: Multi-device collaboration minimizes WiFi interference and allows up to 128 devices to connect at the same time. – Services: Premium 5A[1] -One-stop service capabilities enable operators to offer best-in-class installation, maintenance and operations services. Huawei FTTR OptiXstar F30 empowers users to live digitally and helps operators improve their broadband competitiveness. It has opened a trillion dollar market.
  • In the field of ultra-broadband access, Huawei 50G PON is the industry’s first commercial solution that implements the following features: – It offers high-density symmetric 50G PON to meet the increasing bandwidth demands in future campus, industrial interconnect, enterprise and home scenarios to fulfill. – It uses an innovative conical amplifier and superlattice reflection structure to increase the optical power budget by around 25% and enable ODN operation – It integrates GPON, 10G PON and 50G PON in one connector, allowing service upgrades on demand and minimized investment costs enabled for operators.

As the next generation PON technology defined by ITU-T, 50G PON effectively supports the delivery of 10 Gbps Everywhere. Huawei’s innovative 50G PON solution offers operators a TCO-effective development path to upgrade their networks to 10G.

  • In the field of all-optical metro networks, Huawei’s OptiX Alps WDM solution offers four characteristics: – Agile: This capability extends OXC to the network edge and enables optical one-hop connection and flexible grooming throughout the network, improving network connectivity performance and reducing service delivery time from months to minutes. – Long-term: Metro-focused innovative 100G coherent module helps shift 100G OTN to CO, increasing bandwidth by 10x and significantly reducing costs. – Pooling: By using Wavelength Selective Switch (WSS) technology to integrate nine traditional subracks into one module, this architecture allows 96 wavelengths to be shared across nine access rings, greatly improving wavelength efficiency and reducing equipment room space requirements. – Simplified: This feature applies digital optical labels to wavelengths and uses a centralized management and control unit to achieve automated planning, construction and maintenance, thereby reducing operational costs.

Huawei’s OptiX Alps WDM solution with these four features forms a simplified architecture and provides the ultimate experience. The solutions help redefine green all-optical networks and meet operators’ needs for the development of B2C, B2H and B2B services. They will support service development in the coming decade.

Richard Jin, president of Huawei’s Optical Business Product Line, said, “From F5G to F5.5G, we’re not just planning the future, we’re creating it. Today, gigabit connections are becoming more and more popular around the world. Looking ahead to 2025, the diverse network requirements will require ubiquitous 10 Gigabit connectivity. All industries must work together to embrace F5.5G and embark on the journey to 10 Gbps Everywhere. Huawei will partner with global operators to accelerate network upgrade and adoption of new technologies, helping operators continuously expand their business boundaries and seize opportunities with the ultimate user experience to lead the future.”

MWC 2023 will take place from February 27th to March 2nd in Barcelona, Spain. Huawei will showcase its products and solutions at Booth 1H50, Hall 1 of Fira Gran Via. Together with global operators, industry experts and thought leaders, we will address topics such as 5G business success, 5.5G opportunity, green development, digital transformation and our vision to use the business plan GUIDE to build on the success of 5G for even greater prosperity of 5.5G to build.
