After the launch of the new Honor Magic Vs 2, the company’s CEO, Zhao Ming, decided to comment on the situation in the smartphone market in China. For the executive, the Apple needs to innovate more to maintain its relevance not country.

This is because the return of Huawei and Honor’s new smartphones should “put pressure” on the American company’s market share.

Apple’s time to market share leadership will become increasingly shorter.

Ming also highlighted that smartphone sales in China are growing once more, something that represents a great opportunity for many local companies.

When asked regarding the relationship between Huawei and Honor, Ming decided not to argue. For him, companies must face each other in the Chinese market, but this is something positive for innovation.

The iPhone 15 line didn’t bring any innovations, but I expect the iPhone 16 series to see some significant changes next year.

Finally, Ming criticized the competitor’s strategy of always launching something that only serves to maintain success. In other words, a product without real change.

Still, Ming defined Honor as a company that “challenges” this type of strategy and highlighted that the company must have an “aggressive” strategy to sell “innovative” smartphones.
