The Hsinchu District Prosecutor’s Office stated that Ye Guowen, a candidate for a member of the People’s Party of Xiangshan District, donated money to a legal person association in the constituency where Chen Nv was the chairman of the board as a scholarship for students in the electoral area. After summoning 14 people including Ye Nan and Chen Nv After arriving at the case, they confessed that Ye Nan and Chen Nv were suspected of violating the election strike law and bribery. They gave Ye Nan 200,000 yuan on bail and restricted residence, Chen Nv 20,000 yuan on bail and restricted residence, and the rest were asked to return.
Prosecutor Liao Qicun directed the Hsinchu City Investigation Station, the Third Branch of the Municipal Police Bureau and others to summon Ye Guowen, Chen Nu and related witnesses and suspects to the case yesterday (20th). After the interrogation, Ye Guowen and Chen Nv were found guilty of soliciting bribes under Article 99, item 1 of the Law on the Election and Removal of Public Officials, and offering bribes to organizations under Article 102, item 1.
Prosecutors stated that the case was initially clarified that Ye Nan used a legal person association of which Chen Nv was the chairman to hold the annual general meeting and caring activities in June this year.
