HRS wants to handle crew trips better with a new platform

The hotel booking portal HRS has developed a platform for managing crew trips that relies on automation and artificial intelligence. HRS is convinced that the new solution will bring about significant cost savings and increases in efficiency in the area of crew travel.

The solution is aimed at companies in industries such as construction, energy, media and mining that regularly deploy large teams or crews for projects in different locations and need to efficiently manage travel, accommodation and billing. The target group are also airlines or shipping companies.

The platform, which is already being used by the first customers, is characterized by automated booking and billing processes as well as AI-supported hotel suggestions. Project teams can view real-time budget, costs and metrics for multiple projects at the same time. In addition, the platform offers AI-based hotel suggestions that can be customized to specific project requirements. Bookings and payments are processed with one click, and bookings are automatically monitored to avoid errors such as double occupancy.

The crew travel business is a billion-dollar market

The complete digitalization of the payment processes is particularly noteworthy. According to HRS, the platform enables real-time reviews and historical analysis, creating new approaches to negotiating with hotel providers. Automation not only leads to cost savings, but also improves transparency and efficiency in daily processes.

According to the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), crew and workforce travel accounts for 22 percent of global business travel spending, which equates to around $325 billion. Vincent Campana, Chief Revenue Officer of HRS, emphasizes: “Our new solution revolutionizes crew travel management. Companies participating in the first tests report significant efficiency gains and savings. The platform provides important insights into data and forecasts that improve relationships with vendors and enable future savings.”
