HPV vaccine can effectively prevent more than 70% of cervical cancer in 3 steps of vaccination “before, during and following”

Cervical cancer ranks 10th in cancer incidence and 8th in mortality among women in my country, and it threatens women’s health. The main reason for the occurrence of cervical cancer is that the cervical epithelial cells are continuously infected with high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV). The performance of precancerous lesions may later develop into cervical cancer. Human papillomavirus (HPV) is mainly transmitted through sexual contact. During sexual behavior, it is infected through contact with skin, mucous membranes or body fluids. Sometimes, external genital contact with items carrying HPV may also cause HPV infection.
The World Health Organization pointed out that HPV vaccination can protect women from HPV infection, and can also effectively prevent cervical cancer caused by long-term HPV infection. The main vaccination targets are women aged 9-14, and the goal is to stabilize the vaccination rate to more than 90%. At present, the Food and Drug Administration has approved 3 HPV vaccines, all of which can prevent at least 70% of the high-risk HPV that causes cervical cancer. ￣The National Health Service has been promoting the HPV vaccination service for middle school girls since the end of December 2017. Director Wu Zhaojun of the National Health Service reminded that there are 3 steps of HPV vaccination “before, during and following”:
1. Before:Before vaccination, please read the HPV vaccine health education information carefully, and also refer to the HPV column in the health theme of the National Health Department website (URL:https://www.hpa.gov.tw/Pages/List.aspx?nodeid=212), including HPV vaccine health education manuals, leaflets and lazy bags, etc. If you want to inquire regarding HPV vaccine information, you can call the national HPV vaccine hotline: 0800-88-3513 (baby, protect your life), and also provide hearing-impaired service fax: 04-2310-6667. If the public understands the relevant information regarding HPV vaccination and agrees to get vaccinated, they can go to the medical institution to get vaccinated.
2. In:When vaccinating, please take the initiative to inform the medical history, time of HPV vaccination, body temperature and other evaluations in advance; if you have any special conditions or diseases in your body, be sure to inform the doctor, and receive the HPV vaccine following a comprehensive evaluation by the doctor.
3. After:After vaccination, rest for at least 30 minutes before leaving; if you experience redness, swelling, pain, dizziness, headache and other discomfort at the injection site, please inform your doctor immediately.
The public is requested to complete all doses of vaccination according to the schedule recommended in the manual to have complete protection and let us stay away from the threat of cervical cancer together.
