After Puy-de-Dôme at the beginning of October, Allier is starting its vaccination campaign once morest human papillomavirus (HPV) infections this Monday, October 16, among 5th grade students, girls and boys alike.
And it starts at Achille-Allier college in Bourbon-l’Archambault.
In the department, “49 establishments and 3,468 middle school students are concerned”, includes the Auvergne Rône-Alpes regional health agency (ARS) and the academic management of National Education services, which jointly oversee this major campaign. Among these students, 38 public colleges, where 2,877 students are enrolled, calculates the departmental council.
An informed choice
Not all of these teenagers will be “pricked” during this campaign: in the cohort concerned, some may have already been vaccinated or choose to do so elsewhere, at the family doctor, a pediatrician, or in a pharmacy. They can also opt for non-vaccination.
Objective: 30% of the cohort
The ARS and National Education have set a target of 30% of students vaccinated for this year. In Allier, the operator authorized and financed by the ARS which will concretely implement this campaign is the vaccination center of the Moulins-Yzeure hospital center.
Two doses must be delivered by the end of the school year, i.e. a first injection throughout the country before the Christmas holidays, then a second dose before June 2024.
