Howard Hughes Holdings Inc. Names Charley Freericks President of Phoenix Region

Howard Hughes Holdings Inc. announced that longtime Arizona real estate leader Charley Freericks has been named president of the Phoenix region. Freericks will lead residential and commercial development, leasing and operations for Teravalis, the new 37,000-acre Howard Hughes community in Phoenix’s West Valley. Floreo, Teravalis’ first residential village, is currently under development to provide the community’s first 5,000 homes, scheduled to open in 2025.

Upon completion, Teravalis is expected to deliver 100,000 homes for 300,000 residents, as well as 55 million square feet of commercial development in one of Arizona’s fastest growing real estate markets. Mr. Freericks is a real estate industry veteran with more than 40 years of experience developing large-scale communities throughout Arizona, including acquisition, permitting, planning and design, implementation and operations, with a particular focus on commercial and mixed-use environments. He most recently served as Senior Vice President of Catellus Development Corporation, the project manager for the Novus Innovation Corridor, a 355-acre redevelopment of the Arizona State University Athletics District.

Mr. Freericks is an active contributor to nonprofit organizations that enhance Arizona’s community and business environment. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Community Foundation, an organization whose mission is to lead, serve and collaborate in mobilizing sustainable philanthropy for a better Arizona. He is Chairman Emeritus of Fighter Country Partnership and Fighter Country Foundation, the premier community support organizations at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona.

Mr. Freericks has been a member of the Urban Land Institute since 1985, active at the national and local levels – a member of a national product board, the Young Leaders Group Partnership Forum, and past Arizona District Chair. He has served as a board member and chair of the Valley Partnership, the Arizona Zoological Society, and the Arizona Advisory Board of the Trust for Public Land. Mr. Freericks holds a bachelor’s degree in general business and an MBA from Arizona State University.
