A new start-up from CEA-Leti is making waves. Founded in 2020, Wise-Iintegration has made power electronics its specialty. By relying on gallium nitride (GaN) integrated circuits, the start-up miniaturizes the power supply, that is to say the chargers for electronic products such as smartphones and laptop PCs. Wise-Integration announced on February 29 that it had raised 15 million euros to open up to markets other than that of consumer electronic products and to market its Wise-ware digital controller.
The GaN integrated circuit market is still nascent. This semiconductor is intended to be more efficient than the silicon usually used. It allows you to reduce energy losses, have better power, and heat up little. All in a more compact component. Important assets.
