How will the battles with the Nolwenn team go?

“It’s a new rule that we discover live with you. That’s hazing, ”laughs Nikos Aliagas, while the audience around the set tries to understand what is happening. This Wednesday in January, a moment of hesitation and uncertainty crosses the filming of the battles for season 11 of The Voice.

It is a question of putting in a box the two battles of the team of Nolwenn Leroy, the “secret” coach who scrutinized the blind auditions to fish out four candidates on which Amel BentFlorent Pagny, Vianney and Marc Lavoine did not turn back. We have seen it in recent weeks, she has given a second chance to Jean Palau, Loris, Léo and Kilian.

“We lied to you Nikos, in fact we understood everything! »

“We agree, is it independent of the battles? asks Marc Lavoine. The presenter calls the artistic producer to the rescue: “Pascal [Guix], speak up! The latter explains, with as much pedagogy as possible: “Nolwenn composed two battles. The talent she designates as the winner of each battle joins one of your four teams. It is added to the talents you have already selected for cross battles and does not take the place of a talent that has been “stolen”. You can have a talent from Nolwenn’s team that joins your team for cross battles, but not both. »

“We lied to you Nikos, in fact we understood everything! “, jokes Amel Bent shortly following this statement. The mechanics may seem a little confusing to you explained like this, but it will be very clear in the episode which will be broadcast this Saturday evening on TF1. Telecrochet fans will discover the first of two battles put together by Nolwenn.

The four usual coaches learned of the latter’s role once the blind auditions ended at the end of December. And they only discovered the selected candidates when they saw them arrive on the set, at the last moment. Sitting in the middle of the public, we observe the reactions… Seeing one of the fished out, Marc Lavoine raises a fist of contentment. “You were our probabilities, we had thought of you,” says Vianney. And Amel to engage: “You were expected. »

“Really, we had missed these meetings”

We will be careful not to reveal the configuration of the two battles, but what we can say is that Jean Palau, Loris, Léo and Kilian have arguments to defend. “We had a good, harmonious time. They made it clear to us that we had missed them”, admits Florent Pagny following one of the duels. “Really, we missed these meetings,” concedes Marc Lavoine. “If we relived the blind auditions, on this performance, I would have turned around,” says Amel Bent.

Nolwenn takes up her mission brilliantly. During each battle, she is perfectly attentive. To single out a winner is heartbreaking for her – can you imagine her saying the opposite? – and when she has made her choice, she will talk at length with the rejected talent. The secret coach is a coach like the others…
