Good Friday (or Good Friday) is a holiday that is celebrated on April 7th. As always, there are commemorative dates that end up changing the hours and offer of some bank services. According to Febraban (Brazilian Federation of Banks), “the self-service areas will be available to customers, as well as the digital and remote service channels (internet and mobile banking)”.
How will payments of bills, booklets and bank slips work on Good Friday (or Good Friday)?
If you have a consumption bill (water, energy, telephone, etc.) or a payment slip due on April 7, Febraban informs you that the payment “can be made, without additional charges, on the next business day” following the Good Friday (or Good Friday). Generally, the charges already arrive with the dates adjusted to the calendar of national, state and municipal holidays, says the Brazilian Federation of Banks, but if this does not happen, we recommend that you pay in advance or schedule the payment through ATMs, internet banking or telephone assistance from banks.
In the case of bank slips from customers registered as electronic drawees, Febraban says that they can be paid through Authorized Direct Debit (DDA). Nubank says that its customers will not be able to:
- Make transfers via TED on 07/04, and can only do it from 10/04. However, it’s important to remember that Pix will continue to function normally, any day and time.
- Boletos with a due date of 04/07 can be paid until 04/10 without any additional charge, with the exception of payment slips referring to taxes and duties. In these cases, it is necessary that you make the payment in advance until the 06/04th to avoid fines and interest.
- Redeem for fixed income, variable income and funds on 04/07. Redemptions requested following 1pm on 06/04 will only be processed on 10/04.
- Redeem from the Boxes with RDB, redeem daily or redeem from the Nu Reserva Immediata fund on 04/07. Redemptions requested following 2 pm on 06/04 will be processed on 10/04. The Emergency Reserve Boxes with immediate redemption RDB will have their values available immediately.
Febraban Deputy Director of Services, Walter Tadeu de Faria, says:
“Digital service channels are available and offer virtually all financial transactions in the banking system. Thanks to the banks’ significant investment in technology and automation (around BRL 30 billion annually), electronic channels have become the most used channel for bank transactions, as it is a practical and extremely safe alternative.”
