The police of the Indian state of Karnataka arrested two suspects who stole with the help of Google Maps.

The Karnataka police on Monday arrested two youths from Maharashtra, who used to identify houses on Google Maps and steal there.

The police also recovered a vehicle worth Rs 28 lakh and cash of Rs 11.5 lakh from the possession of the accused.

According to the police, the arrested accused have been identified as Prasanth Kurushi and Avinash Udukar, both residents of Sporalai village of Kholapur district in Maharashtra state.

According to the Belagavi police, the two accused chose the house with the help of Google map and then continued doing reiki for a few days. On the day of the theft, the accused were sitting outside the house while the police caught them.

According to the police officials, ‘the accused first patrolled the area and selected houses that had been closed for several days, later they used Google Maps to see the traffic in the street’.

The investigating officer said that the accused had cleaned three houses and stolen valuable jewelery from there in the last few days, while earlier both the accused had committed many incidents in Maharashtra as well.

The police registered a case once morest the accused in the city police station and produced them in the court, where the judge sent them both to judicial remand for further investigation.
