shares of energy companies locales listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE, for its acronym in English) closed out a solid 2022 in which they registered marked year-on-year growth, in line with the bull market Argentinian. The flag oil company YPF, Vista, Pampa Energía and TGS These are some of the companies that faithfully reflect the recomposition of the papers, which continued during the first fortnight of this 2023.
In jargon, the term bull market is used to describe a period in which indices reflecting the values of stocks listed in a market rise for a sustained time. It is an ideal scenario for investments to drive capital gains.
The four companies that are analyzed in this article, which grew strongly last year and the same in previous years, They have diverse structures and business models, which allows to make a general screenshot of the good moment they are going through.
Before moving forward, it is worth noting that official information from the NYSE was used for the comparison, as well as a special report from the consulting firm Economía y Energía (E&E). The closing value of the price of each December between 2019 and 2022 was taken.
YPF
In the case of the flag oil company, there is a significant jump in the value of the papers listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Between December 2022 (US$9.19) and December 2021 (US$3.82) there was an increase of no more and no less than 140.57%.

Nevertheless, the second week of January closed with a price of US$ 11.08 and yesterday closed at US$12.22. A clear example that last year’s trend continued this year.
Vista
The company that has the former YPF, Miguel Galuccio, as president and CEO, Vista, is another of the companies that posted a solid rally in its share price on the NYSE. Between December 2022 (US$15.66) and December 2021 (US$5.33) it materialized an increase of 193.80% in the price of its papers.

Of the months under analysis, December 2020 is the lowest record for the firm’s papers: US$ 2.56. At the end of 2022, the story was different, since the growth between one month and another was 511.71%, more than 6 times the value of Black December.
Compared to December 2019 (US$7.85), Vista closed 2022 with its share price on the stock market 99.49% higher.
Like YPF, the trend continues to rise, and it is that the second week of January closed with the value of its share at US$ 16.70. While yesterday it closed at US$ 16.81.
Pampa Energy
The integrated company, Pampa Energía, is the one with the highest share price, among the companies analyzed, on the New York Stock Exchange. In detail, between December 2022 (US$31.94) and December 2021 (US$21.11) the firm’s papers increased in value by 51.30%.
Compared to December 2020 ($13.78) and December 2019 ($16.43), the firm managed to rebuild the value of its share on the NYSE by 131.78% and 94.40%, respectively.
Despite having diverse structures and business units, like what was seen with YPF and Vista, the company led by Marcelo Mindlin also maintained its upward trend this year. According to the data, the firm closed the second week of January at US$34.79, while yesterday it reached the ceiling of US$35.73.
To see a value of its share higher than the current one, you have to go back to 2018, the year in which the firm’s papers traded above US$70.
TGS
TGS, the country’s main gas carrier, also rode the growing wave of listings on the New York Stock Exchange and closed December 2022 with a price per share of US$ 11.80. Compared to the same month of 2021 (US$ 4.44) it materialized an increase of 165.76%.
Compared to December 2020 (US$5.20) and December 2019 (US$7.17), the company -which belongs to the same group as Pampa Energía- increased the value of its shares by 126.92% and 64 .56%, respectively.
The second week of January, the firm closed with a value of its share of US$11.92 and yesterday it touched the ceiling of US$12.16.
