Tomatlán, Ver.- For the first time the meeting of Medical Services and Traditional Medicine of the High Mountainswith what an attempt is made to rescue the medical properties of plants and the knowledge of the doctors of the original peoples.
There are seven municipalities of the Altas Montañas that work together to ensure that the tourist, cultural and economic values of this region stand out in coordination, which is why, having the municipality of Tomatlán as its headquarters, the artisans and traditional doctors of the different areas of Tepatlaxco, Calcahualco, Ixhuatlan del Café, Coscomatepec, Alpatláhuac and Chocamán.
starting with a healing ritual, The traditional doctor invited all the mayors and representatives of the municipalities to join this opening ceremony, where they raised their hands to the sky and turned to the four cardinal points asking for the good news to arrive.
“We want to highlight the artisan part, because many governments have forgotten the origins of our people. Mexico is a multicultural country that is made up of the main roots, we are the original peoples and sometimes we ourselves are unaware of our own origins. , the customs, uses and traditions are being lost”, affirmed the deputy of the XXII district of Zongolica, Jose Luis Tehuintle Xocua.

After performing the ribbon cutting by the mayor of Tomatlán, Antonio Flores Cansino and the others present, citizens were invited to visit the spaces where artisans, including farmers, exhibit their products and gastronomy, jewelry, herbal medicine, among others.
The traditional doctors who were present gave free consultations to the attendees who asked foramong other care, cure indigestion, stomach and heart problems and other ailments.
“The doctor’s medicine and traditional medicine should be complemented because together they are potentiated, for this reason it should not be forgotten that our ancestral medicine is plants, its use should be resumed because it is natural”says Mary Stella Reyes, traditional medicine of Tetelzingo.
Magnets, medicinal plant teas, as well as elderberry or cannabis ointments, were some of the products on display and were prescribed to those who requested these products.
