Abraham Osler is the latest film directed by Mithun Manuel Thomas starring Jayaram. It is also special that this is a film directed by Mithun following the fifth part. The film was released in theaters today on January 11.
After the hugely successful film Anchaam Pathira, the audience was waiting for Abraham Osler with great anticipation as it was a film directed by Mithun. If Aamham Pathira was a crime thriller, Abraham Osler was an emotional crime thriller.
Ever since the film was announced, there have been rumors that actor Mammootty will be seen alongside Jayaram. Confirming it later, when the trailer came, Mammootty’s voice was also in it. Director Mithun Manuel and hero Jayaram responded that Mammootty will not be in the film.
But following the film hit the theaters, the director released the poster of Mammootty in the film. Mammootty played the role of Alexander in the film.
Now, in an interview given to Red FM Malayalam, director Mithun Manuel Thomas is answering the question regarding how he convinced Mammootty for the film.
Mithun said that there was no need to convince Mammootty, there was only a need to tell the story. Mithun added that he is not a person who can be convinced.
‘There was nothing to convince Mammooka. There was only a need to tell the story. But he is not a man who can be convinced. There is only one way to convince Mammooka. Tell a good story,’ said Mithun Manuel.
The director also answered the question whether he wanted to make Jayaram the hero of Osler in the film.
‘When the story came to me, nothing was decided regarding the casting. There was only a desire to make this film as someone who had never done such a film before.
That’s how Kunchako Boban arrived in the fifth round. The pattern was the same here. Jayaramettan was a person who had not been in Malayalam for some time and who had not done such a film. So Jayaramettan was cast,’ says Mithun Manuel.
