While breaking (or breakdancing) began in the Bronx in New York in the early 1980s, it is now part of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics. The new event makes its debut on Friday, August 9.

When are the breakdance events?

Breaking begins Friday, August 9 at 8:30 a.m. ET/5:30 a.m. PT. It ends Saturday, August 10 at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT, or during coverage of Primetime in Paris on NBC at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

The men’s and women’s breaking events are available to watch live and stream on demand. They air on E! and NBC, as well as on the Peacock streaming service.
