Only a doctor can decide if you should be tested for the flu. Not all patients who have a high temperature and other symptoms are tested.
“There are a number of conditions that must match in order for a patient to be tested for the flu,” said the head of one of the clinics in Yekaterinburg. – The most accurate diagnosis is a swab from the pharynx, nose, which is examined by PCR. But we only take swabs if the patient has flu-like symptoms and is not vaccinated. We also ask if a person has been in contact with people with influenza, if his relatives are ill, if he has chronic diseases. Each doctor analyzes all the factors and decides whether we test the patient for the flu.
