How to see if Apple Watch is charging? What to do if you’re not?

The Apple Watch is a smartwatch that allows users to perform a variety of tasks, including making phone calls, sending text messages and reading emails. Apple released the first Apple Watch on April 24, 2015. And since then, year following year, it releases a new version of the watch.

The device has a magnetic charger, which charges the device quickly. However, in the rush of everyday life, it may happen that you don’t fit right, and the Apple Watch doesn’t charge. And so, you are left without your watch to control your heartbeat, and send messages.

Look at the Apple Watch screen. If there is a lightning bolt symbol, it means your watch is charging. If you start charging the watch when the battery is completely depleted, it may take a while for the watch to turn on and display the charging symbol.

  1. While the watch is charging, gently shake it or tap your screen to watch it wake up;
  2. The loading screen will look like the image below. That’s how you’ll know it’s charging properly.

If you have noticed that your watch is not working, it may have a problem. Below are some possible solution options:

  • If the device is new, remove the plastic packaging that comes with the charger;
  • Always use the cable with the original Apple charger, or preferably the one that came with the Apple Watch in the box;
  • If you’re using a third-party charger, make sure it’s labeled “Made For iPhone” or “MFi”;
  • Make sure the cable that charges the device is securely connected to the charger, as well as the power adapter to the power outlet;
  • Thoroughly clean the back of your Apple Watch and magnetic charger;
  • Reposition the Apple Watch on the magnetic charger: If you line up the magnets on the charger with the watch, a green or yellow lightning bolt should appear on the screen, signaling that charging is in progress;
  • If possible, use another Apple Watch magnetic charger and another USB power adapter;
  • Finally, force restart your Apple Watch: Press the side button and Digital Crown for 10 seconds, or until the Apple logo appears onscreen.

If you still cannot solve the problem, contact the Apple Support. There you can get more information and specific instructions. Or, send your watch to a certified technical assistance.
