The event kicked off with a welcome speech by Moon Doo-hwan, general manager of the pig farming division of Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Pharmaceuticals Korea. Director Moon said, “Compared to other respiratory diseases, pandemic pneumonia, which does not directly affect mortality, is usually overlooked, but it has a huge impact on farm production performance, such as reducing ADG and FCR, and opens the door to other respiratory diseases that cause mortality. He said, “I wanted to provide a good opportunity to remind the importance of preventing epidemic pneumonia once once more through this event with clinical veterinarians from all over the country,” revealing the purpose of the talk concert.

The talk concert was conducted by Dr. Oh Yoo-sik of Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Medicine Korea, who leads KMAP. Regarding the purpose of KMAP, Dr. Oh explained, “KMAP was first established in 2015 to increase understanding of the domestic epidemic pneumonia disease and to help reduce domestic pig farm losses due to the disease.” We want to identify the current status of pneumonia and present the latest disease control techniques.” added.

The first start of the talk concert was stopped by Kim Seong-il, director of Pig and Health. Director Kim mentioned the case of conversion from negative to positive for epidemic pneumonia, and in this case, the death rate increased by regarding 2.3 times, causing an economic loss of 60 million won per month, explaining the risk of infection of epidemic pneumonia in pig farms. suggested

Then, Su-dong Jeon, director of Pig Manager Animal Hospital, presented the new evaluation criteria for pigs with epidemic pneumonia announced by KMAP. The evaluation criteria were classified into three types (negative, controlled positive, uncontrolled positive) to define the pig group.

Director Jeon suggested that if positive breeding is confirmed, focus on the non-raising section in the case of controlled breeding, and control the non-raising section following controlling the candidate and breeding pig group in the case of uncontrolled breeding.

Along with this, Kim Jeong-hee, head of the veterinary team at Dodram Pig Farming Cooperative Animal Hospital, emphasized the importance of taming once morest epidemic pneumonia, mentioning that candidate pigs are the starting point of the disease prevention chain. Team leader Kim presented a realistic strategy for purifying the candidate money for pandemic pneumonia that fits the domestic farm situation. Team Leader Kim explained, “Regardless of whether the candidate pig is infected or not, the vaccine is given twice at 3-4 week intervals, and microlide antibiotics are recommended before moving into the breeding house and before moving into the farrowing house.” In the case of controlled positive, the introduction of negative candidate money is recommended.”

Kang Seong-joong, a veterinarian at Woorison FNG, presented guidelines for epidemic pneumonia control by dividing them into vaccines and antibiotics. In the case of vaccination, it is recommended that sows be vaccinated or not vaccinated twice a year in the control-positive pig group, and that piglets be vaccinated at 3-4 weeks of age. Vaccination at 1-4 weeks of age for piglets is recommended.

In case of antibiotic treatment, sows were treated before parturition, and injections were recommended rather than feed additions.

Lastly, Manager Park Sook-hyeon, PM of Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health Korea Co., Ltd. pig farming division, said, “Pneumonic pneumonia is a primary disease that aggravates other respiratory diseases, and when infected, it has a great effect on reducing farm productivity. In particular, breeding pigs, which can be seen as the beginning of the infection chain, is of the utmost importance. Compared to the long-term excretion of germs, in our farms, where the cure period is short, the realistic and easiest way to generate immunity through vaccine is the summary. In addition, the talk concert was concluded by saying, “Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Pharmaceuticals Korea will continue to do its best to take the lead in solving disease problems in domestic livestock farmers.”

Some of the contents of this event will be rebroadcast through Don Planner TV in the future.
