Method #1 Create a new “MachineKeys” folder
- Navigate through Windows Explorer to the directory C:ProgramDataMicrosoftCryptoRSA and rename the “MachineKeys” folder to the “MachineKeys.old” folder.
- Create a new folder called “MachineKeys” in the directory C:ProgramDataMicrosoftCryptoRSA.
- Right click on it and go to “Properties”.
- Go to the “Security” tab.
- Then click the “Edit” button under “Groups or Users”. Make sure all system users have full control. Then do the same in “SYSTEM”.
- Click OK and restart your computer.
If you don’t have a folder on your computer C:ProgramDataMicrosoftCryptoRSA, it means that this directory is hidden. Simply copy this directory into Windows Explorer and press Enter. To make a folder available program data do cmd on behalf of the administrator, and then enter the command in it attribute C:ProgramData -s -h -r /s /d.
Method #2 Start the HomeGroup service
A stopped HomeGroup service may be the reason why you are seeing error 0x80630203 on your screen. You can start it manually or set it to start automatically.
- Press the buttons at the same time Win+Renter services.msc in the search box.
- Look for “Homegroup Provider” in the list of services.
- Double click on it to enter its properties.
- Click the “Start” button if it has been paused.
- Then select “Automatic” from the Startup Type dropdown menu.
- Now do the same for PNRP Protocol, Network Member Pool, Network Member Identity Manager, and PNRP Computer Name Publishing Service.
- Reboot your computer and then look for 0x80630203.
