How to enable/disable orientation lock in certain apps [iPhone e iPad]

O accelerometer is a component that has been available on iPhones and iPads since the first generations of these devices. It’s thanks to it that you can alternate the view of an image or a website between horizontal or vertical, for example, simply by turning your device.

This natively does not change according to the application you are using. However, with the help of a simple shortcut, you can enable/disable screen orientation lock in a specific app.

This is useful, for example, to lock orientation in all apps and only enable screen rotation in video apps (such as YouTube and Vimeo).

See how to proceed! ???? ????

On an iPhone/iPad running iOS/iPadOS 14.5 or later, open the app Shortcuts (Shortcuts) — if he doesn’t show up there, download it for free from the app store. Then go to the “Automation” tab and select “Create Personal Automation”.

On the next screen, choose “App” and on the next screen, tap on “App” to choose the one(s) you want to use for automation. Select “OK” to confirm the selection and make sure that “For Open” and “For Closed” are both selected.

Go to “Next” under “Add Action” and choose “Set Orientation Lock”. Tap “Next” once more, uncheck “Ask on Run” and confirm “Don’t Ask”. Finally, select “OK”.

And that’s it!

From that moment on, whenever the application in question is opened, its orientation will change. Keep in mind that if lock is enabled/disabled before opening the app added to the shortcut, it will will perform the opposite action.
