How to Disable Warzone HDR on Xbox

If you play Warzone on Xbox, you’ve probably faced quite a few issues since Season 2 released, including multiple crashes. Fortunately this is not a problem without a solution, here is something to put the odds on your side.

Since Warzone Season 2 kicked off, Xbox players have been experiencing various issues on Caldera, including crashes for no apparent reason.

Although the developers have taken note of this, no patch has been deployed to date to resolve the problem.

Season 2 of Warzone and Vanguard has just debuted.

However, while waiting for an official solution, there is a trick that seems to work for a large number of players. All they had to do in order to play smoothly was turn off HDR.

Disable HDR to reduce crashes in Warzone

If you too have been experiencing crashes on Warzone for a few days, disabling your console’s HDR might just fix the problem. Here is how to do this:

  • Go to “My games and applications”.
  • Select “Warzone”.
  • Once selected, go to the menu
  • Navigate to “Manage games and add-ons”.
  • Disable Auto HDR.

Once you complete all these steps, your HDR will be disabled. This may help fix the problem or at least reduce its frequency as HDR puts more strain on your console trying to load higher quality textures.

Many players on Reddit and Twitter reported that this was enough to fix the issue. It even seems that this solution has helped those who mightn’t even access the battle royale.
