In addition to being able to be used on the iPhone and Apple Watch, the Apple Pay it’s on Macs too—though not in the same way.
On Apple desktops and notebooks, it is possible to use the company’s payment service only through compatible apps and websites, since the process of approaching such a machine would be, to say the least, bizarre. ????
If you want, Apple allows you to disable the option so Safari can check if you have an Apple Pay card set up (on supported Macs) or on your iPhone/Apple Watch (on other machines) in addition to the Apple Card ( US only).

With Safari open, go to Safari » Settings… in the menu bar or use the shortcut ⌘ command ,. Then select the “Privacy” tab and uncheck “Allow sites to verify Apple Pay and Apple Card”.
