O NameDrop is one of the many new features that arrived with the iOS 17 and the watchOS 10.
For those who are not yet familiar with this feature, it allows you to share your contact with another person by simply bringing the devices closer together — as long as they are updated to the compatible versions of the operating systems, of course.
Despite being very cool, it can end up becoming inconvenient — mainly due to the fact that it works by simply keeping the two devices close together. Fortunately, Apple allows you to disable this in a very simple way.
On the iPhone, open Settings, tap “General” and “AirDrop”. Then, uncheck the “Bring Devices” option in the “Start sharing to” section.
As a result, when the devices are brought closer together, it will not be possible to exchange phone numbers and share photos.
